TOWN DESCIPTION
Aliquippa is a small steel town located north of Pittsburgh along the banks of the Ohio River that has a population of almost 13,000 and covers an area of 4.5 square miles. With the closing of LTV Steel, once the largest steelmaking plant in the United States employing 17,000 workers, Aliquippa has struggled to survive.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Aliquippa Burea of Fire is a combination department consisting of 1 chief, 8 paid firemen, and a volunteer organization. ABF is one of 3 paid departments in Beaver County. Running fire, rescue, and emergency medical calls ABF has served the City of Aliquippa for many years.
STATIONS
At one time the City of Aliquippa consisted of 3 fire stations; Central Station, Company No. 1, and Company No. 2. Today Aliquippa consists of one station covering all of Aliquippa.
